For over 3 generations, Safari Ltd. has been a leading manufacturer of educational toys specializing in authentic hand painted replicas.

The company began in the Miami apartment of the founders, Mr. & Mrs. Bernard A. Rubel. While vacationing in Germany, they discovered an educational card game about Endangered Species in the zoo s gift shop in Munich, Germany. They decided to translate it into English and sell to the zoos and museums in the US.

Today Safari Ltd. sells worldwide in a variety markets.
Since the beginning, we have never forgotten the magic word "Imagination" which is so often overlooked in this highly technical world. We make sure our replicas assist in the joy of learning through play for kids, adults, Collectors and educators alike!
In our travels, people sometimes ask us who actually designs our beautiful figures? We reply that our sole designer is simply nature herself. This, in combination with a team of gifted sculptors, helps us create a magical collection of replicas that appear to be almost alive especially in their gazes.
We also take pride in having license agreements, for almost 25 years, with the renowned Carnegie Museum of Natural History of Pittsburgh, PA. and the Monterey Bay Aquarium of Monterey, CA. These collaborations with their scientists help in producing some of the highest quality scale-model replicas in the world.
